Per l'onomastico della Scrivente Errante, ho scelto questa poesia di Robert Burns, perche' quest'anno vorrei percorrere, nei primi 25 giorni dell'anno che precedono il suo compleanno, il tema della natura attraverso le sue poesie. Ho amato in particolare il modo in cui passa da descrivere un ambiente naturale ai gesti che si scambiano i due amati, gesti che si mimetizzano, ma non troppo, con gli elementi atmosferici: Il canto del giovane perso nel vento, e molti baci che rimangono impressi. Questi baci sono promesse d'amore che nessuno dovrebbe mai rinnegare.

L'Allan Water è un fiume che attraversa Styrathallan, nel Pertshire. Ben Ledi è una grande collina appena fuori dalla città di Callander, che si trova nelle Trossachs.
