CARNIVAL TIME, TIME FOR CHIKAIMA MAITEA TO START TO KNOW ITALY
Finally, Honey, I tell you about the country in which I was born. I chose this moment of the year because when I was a child it was funny for me going around with a dress of a 800 century lady or as Princess Sissi, playing with my friends as we used to do (going in the fornidden hill without tell anything to the adults).
Famous carnival parties in the world are many: in the region in which I come from there is a famous orange’s battle settled every year in Ivrea! The, there is Venezia, but not only in Italy is used to celebrate Carnival! Tenerife, Spain, Nizza, or Nottinghill in London!
I will tell you the story of the Carnival’s Italian haracters, starting from one of the most famous one: from Bergamo there is ARLECCHINO!
My dear Chikaima Maitea, Arlecchino was a child as you will be in the future: he loves go at school where he can learn every day something new, come back at home and eat simple but delicious dainties prepared by his mother. He had a secret: after a rain, he used to go out to see the rainbow in the hill where he went with his daddy! For Arlecchino rainbow were a passion and he draw them lots of time!
As you already grasped, Arlecchino did not have more his daddy but only the mommy. They were poor. When at school all the children were invited to participate to a party dressing up with a mask, Arlecchino was suddenly very sad because he knows that he cannot go with his friend; he didn’t have a mask and he cannot ask money to his mother. His fellows gathered all together and they decided to ask to their parents a way to invite Arlecchino too.
The day after, all the parents came in Arlecchino’s house while children were at school and with the mother, they decided to give her a piece of dyed tissue that she will stitch together!
The day of the party the mother asked him why he was ready to go to sleep without give him time to invent an excuse. She shows immediately to him the gorgeous rainbow dress and she told him that the tissue is from his fellow!
Arlecchino came at school with his splendid dress and started to hug his friends showing them a huge gratitude to be part of his life!
